Aware of the current conflict between the Government of Sudan (GoS) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army-North (SPLM/A-N), in response to the worsening humanitarian situation in South Kordofan and Blue Nile, the SPLM/N accepted the United Nations, African Union and the League of Arab states proposal for delivery of humanitarian assistance to the war affected population in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile states in February 2012.

يواصل فريق أطباء الأمراض الجنسية والمعدية عمله في أنحاء إقليم اتيكي للكشف عن المزيد من النساء المصابات والحاملات لفيروس نقص المناعة (الايدز) من العاملات في البغاء غير القانوني،سواء في البيوت غير المرخصة، أو على الرصيف، أو في الفنادق القريبة من وسط المدينة. الفحوصات التي قام بها الأطباء كشفت عن عشر يونانيات وبلغارية إلى جانب الشقراء الروسية التي فجرت الموضوع بعد إخضاعها للفحص الأسبوع الماضي واكتشاف أنها مصابة بالايدز. المصابات كلهن من الفتيات صغيرات السن واللائي يمارسن البغاء بطريقة غير مشروعة ولم يسبق أن اخضعن لفحوصات طبية.

يذكر أن عشرات الاتصالات الهاتفية انهالت على مركز مكافحة الأمراض المعدية بعد إعلان الشرطة عن هذا الأمر ، ووصل عدد المتصلين بالمركز إلى حوالي (1000 شخص) من المترددين على هذه الأماكن، والذين لم يستخدموا الواقي الذكري أثناء اتصالهم مع هؤلاء النسوة.وفي تصريح بالخصوص قال مسئول في فريق الأطباء (ليابيس أفينجليوس) للصحافة اليونانية بأن :” هذا أمر مقلق للغاية، لأنه يشكل تهديدا الصحة العامة. أنها قنبلة لأن الكثير من هؤلاء النسوة مارسن الجنس غير الآمن مع عدد كبير من مرتادي مثل هذه الأماكن”
